Welcome to the home of CFSW
Tonight it's Poetry and Spoken Word Canada (SpoCan) are proud to present the 2012 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word (CFSW) which will take place place Oct 8th to 13th in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This annual festival, produced by SpoCan in conjunction with a local organizing committee, features the top talent in the national spoken word community. Poets from across Canada will descend on Saskatoon for the country’s largest spoken word festival.
Past Festivals
From a small festival dubbed the Canadian Spoken Wordlympics held in Ottawa in 2004, the festival has been hosted across the country and has grown from six teams to 20. The original intent of the festival, to provide a national showcase for spoken word talent, has expanded to include an array of panels, showcases, workshops, and other daytime events in addition to the Canadian National Poetry Slam held in the evenings. At each CFSW, two poets are honoured for their contributions to the Canadian spoken word community.
